The assignment was to design a typeface and I was inspired by the style of Art Deco design and architecture. I chose to design a display font that incorporated the elements of Art deco design like symmetry, geometric shapes and angles, and line art.

This gave me the opportunity to explore and experiment with typography and presented me with the challenge of creating a cohesive design, that ensured every letter looked part of the same family.
